Stay on Querétaro's main square: Hotel Plaza de Armas
Rooms
What actually changes from one room to the next
You can wake up over Plaza de Armas, or in an interior room the square reaches least. The balcony and terrace rooms are the ones with the light and the view; the interior rooms are the ones set back from the square. That's the real choice here, so pick what you want to wake up to.

Location
The whole historic center is a walk from the door
We're at Andador Libertad No. 35, on the pedestrian walkway that runs along Plaza de Armas. The Templo de San Francisco is about a three minute walk, and the cathedral, the Andador 5 de Mayo and the Teatro de la República are a few minutes past it. No morning goes into getting anywhere, and you sleep back in the middle of it.

Restaurant and bar
You eat right here, at Restaurante La Nación
You don't have to go out and find somewhere to eat. Restaurante La Nación is in the same 18th-century building, under the brick arches, with a menu of its own. Breakfast runs from chilaquiles to enchiladas Corregidora. At midday there's pasta, risotto and steak off the grill. Later on, the Bar Traspatio.
Breakfast for two is in the rate when you book direct. Each extra person is $250 MXN, about US$14, or you order from the menu at La Nación.

What guests say on Google
A really lovely stay. They treated us very well and were on top of everything, making sure the service was good. It's a house from the 1700s and it genuinely feels incredible to sleep somewhere this beautiful; the rooms are modern, in a style that fits the house perfectly.

Questions people ask before booking
